Below are the projects we worked on for our Gifts Edition Class.
These projects were intended for our returning students
since they are beyond the usual beginner projects in difficulty.
Week 2 -
V-Stitch Shawl
This is a very simple stitch of inlaid "V's".
By using a boucle yarn the
"V's" disappear and the shawl has a
simple yet bulky lacy look
These are close-ups of the stitches with the boucle yarn and with "regular" yarn
Week 3 : Cannister Covers
This week we practiced a variety of stitches as shown below -
The first two are easy and the last would be an intermediate level stitch
Checkerboard Stitch
Honeycomb Mesh Stitch
Basketweave Stitch
Week 4: Amigurimi Egg Cozies
That's the art of making small 3D creatures with crochet -
They mostly use a very simple stitch - SC -
but with many increases and decreases
Week 5: Granny Squares
There are many many versions of the famous granny square -
Beginners learn the traditional American Granny Square
(see photos of Hooked on Crochet projects);
Returning students tried their hand at this square
(also called a "motif")
"Wheel in a Square"
